Elon Musk = Awesome
September 29th, 2008
Yesterday, Elon Musk (a PayPal founder, founder of the Tesla car company and all-around entrepreneur) launched the first private spacecraft into orbit. The guy is James Bond villain mad genius, but a really good guy using his smarts and money to bring the future a lot faster. If you go to the SpaceX website you can see their plans for future rockets including cost per kilo to orbit. They’ve also got a manned spacecraft planned.
Cards as Weapons

BoingBoing had a blurb from Bookride about Ricky Jay’s Cards as Weapons.
“It is worth noting that there is also a hardback of the book that is much prized and dealers (who are not mad) sometimes ask $1000 or more for it, although a cautious punter could probably pick one up in the $600 to $800 range - in a jacket.”
I think I paid $30 for my pristine hardback copy at Daytona Magic. Who would have guessed?

What I did this weekend: FreeBlogPhotos.com
September 8th, 2008
Finding images that can be used on blogs without big rights issues can be time-consuming. I decided to create a site that makes it easy to find free and creative commons licensed photos in one spot. It lets you search the three best sources for these images; Flickr, Google and PicApp.com. The site works as a frame that sits above the sites that it searches allowing you to quickly search for images without opening another window. It’s still a work in progress but worth checking out if you blog: FreeBlogPhotos.com
